Day Trip, Group Tour
Offer Image
Travel from Kiel to the historic city of Lubeck and discover its Hanseatic heritage on a guided walking tour featuring the iconic Holstentor, Brick Gothic churches, and the charming old town. Enjoy free time to explore the cobblestone streets and hidden alleys at your own pace before returning to the port.

Lubeck Highlights

Debark your ship in Kiel and be greeted by your local, friendly English-speaking port assistant who will show you to your vehicle and settle in for a comfortable drive to Lubeck.

Once you arrive, you will be provided a 2-hour walking tour of the city with your guide that includes the iconic Holsten Gate, the old salt storehouses, St. Peter's Church, the imposing town hall overlooking the city's marketplace, St. Mary's Church (the "mother of brick Gothic architecture") and much more.

This northern German city is immediately distinguished by Brick Gothic architecture which dates to its time as the medieval capital of the Hanseatic League, a powerful trading confederation. Its symbol is the Holstentor, a red-brick city gate that defended the river-bounded Altstadt (old town). Rebuilt following WW II, the Marienkirche is a 13th-14th-century landmark that widely influenced Northern European church design.

Once your organized time has ended, you will be given approximately 1-1.5 hours of free time to continue exploring the old city's winding alleys on your own before returning to the port of Kiel.

Please Note: Any entrance fees where applicable are not included in the price of this tour.
